Administrative Policies
Governance
BIH shall be governed by a Board of Directors and Executive Management Team. All departments
report to the Hospital Administrator under the direction of the Medical Director.
Operating Hours
– Outpatient Department: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Monday-Saturday)
– Emergency Services: 24/7
Staff Conduct
All staff must abide by the Code of Conduct, maintain confidentiality, wear appropriate uniforms, and
uphold patient dignity.
Clinical Policies
Patient Rights and Responsibilities
Patients have the right to respectful, confidential, and evidence-based care. Patients must provide
accurate medical history and follow care plans.
Infection Control
– Mandatory hand hygiene compliance for all staff and visitors.
– Use of PPE as appropriate.
– Regular disinfection of surfaces and medical equipment.
Medical Records
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are to be used for all patient documentation. Records are
confidential and accessible only to authorized personnel.
Admission, Discharge, and Referral
Admission Policy
Admission is based on physician evaluation. Emergency cases are given priority.
Discharge Protocol
A discharge summary must be prepared by the attending physician. Patients receive post-discharge
care instructions.
Referral System
Referral to specialists or other hospitals must be documented and tracked.
Emergency and Critical Care Policy
Emergency Response
– Triage within 5 minutes of arrival.
– Resuscitation protocols based on ACLS/BLS guidelines.
Ambulance Services
– Available 24/7 for internal and external calls.
– Staffed with trained paramedics and essential equipment.
Pharmacy and Medication Policy
– Medications must be prescribed by licensed personnel.
– All drugs must be stored securely and checked for expiry.
– Adverse drug reactions should be reported immediately.
Human Resources Policy
Hiring and Training
– Background checks, license verification, and orientation are mandatory.
– Continuous Professional Development (CPD) required annually.
Leave & Attendance
– Staff are entitled to annual, sick, and maternity/paternity leave.
– Attendance is tracked via biometric systems.
Disciplinary Action
– Any breach of policy will attract verbal/written warnings, suspension, or termination as appropriate.
Financial and Billing Policy
– All services must be billed accurately through the hospital management system.
– Payment modes accepted: Cash, POS, Transfer, and Insurance.
– Charity care available for indigent patients upon approval.
Security and Safety Policy
– 24/7 surveillance of all premises.
– No video recording is allowed on hospital property without management consent.
– Fire drills conducted quarterly.
– All staff must wear ID badges.
Patient Feedback and Quality Assurance
– Patients may provide feedback via suggestion boxes, WhatsApp, or email.
– A Quality Assurance Committee will review complaints monthly.
Technology and Data Use Policy
– Unauthorized access to hospital systems is prohibited.
– Data backups are performed daily.
– Only authorized staff can use BIH official devices.
Dress Code and Identification
– All departments must adhere to color-coded uniforms.
– Security: Navy Blue & Red with BIH badge.
– Clinical staff: Scrubs or lab coats with name tags.
– Admin: BIH corporate wear.
Media, Communication & Visitors Policy
– No unauthorized photography or video recording.
– Visitors allowed between 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
– All visitors must sign in and wear visitor tags.

– Policies are reviewed every 12 months or as needed.
– All departments must implement this policy and ensure compliance.
